Dreams Don't Always Come True

*Trinidad years later*
Ever since the day she left Queens she's been dreaming of going back. Her 16th birthday was coming up and she couldn't wait to surprise Safaree. This time her father let them go so Nicki her two brothers and her mother moved back to South Side Jamaica Queens. Nicki couldn't wait! Ever since they left her mom continued to pay the rent so when they finally went back they would have a home to go back too.
*in queens*
"Mom I'm going out to play ball!". Safaree now 17 years old was very tall now with a deep voice and love for basketball. He has never dated. He always dreamed of a girl but he didn't know her. He promised himself he wouldn't date until he found her. He felt a connection between them but slowly he was giving up.
When Nicki and her family got back to Queens everything looked so different but yet the same. There was a new play ground on the block where an old parking lot was. It had swings and a basketball court, usual playground stuff. Nicki quickly unpacked and then headed for SB's house and by this time he was already back from playing basketball, just getting out the shower: Nicki shyly knocked on the front door. "I got it!" He yelled answering the door in only his towel. They shared a long stare. He thought she looked familiar but from where?
"Umm hi um i was just um..... is Ms. Samuels here?"
"Uh yeah sure wait here."
When she got to the door she grabbed Nicki and held her close. She missed her. She was like the daughter she never had. They sat and talked for a while getting re-acquainted. "SAFAREEEEEE COME HEREEEE" his mother yelled. SB rolled his eyes upstairs and yelled back "he's not here". Alot has changed since then, nobody called him Safaree. He preferred SB. Nicki got sad hearing Safaree wasn't there. She really missed him. But when SB came down, thank god he had a shirt on. "Boy how dare you not keep Onika company?" At the sound of her name he looked at her stuck in a trance. That's when she knew that was her Safaree. She ran up to him and hugged him. But he didn't hug her back he just stood there. He couldn't say anything. "I missed you Safaree." "It's SB" he responded coldly. "Whatever you call yourself I missed you!" Her accent was so cute and strong. In a way she looked the same. Just more body SB noticed. "Same height though " he joked to him self while he went back upstairs feeling her starring at his back and trying so hard not to care.
